When it says STCW medical expired does that apply to me if I do not have any STCW endorsements?

Nope!  You only need to keep the medical for what endorsements you hold valid. If you don't hold any STCW endorsements your medical is valid for 5 years. If you hold any STCW endorsements your medical is valid for 2 years.

If your medical is expired for the type of endorsements you hold your entire MMC is expired and you cannot work on it.
